Duke Henry III of Saxony
Another name for Henry was Henry the Lion. General Notes: Henry the Lion (1129-95), Duke of Saxony and Bavaria, was the son of Duke Henry the Proud, and a cousin of the Emperor Frederick Barbarossa. He married Matilda, daughter of Henry II of England. Henry founded Munich, and encouraged the development of Hamburg, Lübek, and other towns.
