Duncan I of Scotland, King of Scotland
Another name for Duncan was Duncan the Gracious. General Notes: Reigned from 1034 to 1040. During that period the North and West of Scotland were conquered by the Northmen, uder Thrfinn, Jarl of the Orkneys. His cousin MacBeth, Mormaer of Moray, joining his fortune to the invader, put Duncan to death and ascended the throne. {Burke’s Peerage} [GADD.GED] Noted events in his life were: • Alt.
