Nathan, b. 16 Jan. 1709; d. in Scituate 22 May 1739, "aet. 30;" m. 6 Sept. 1733 Lydia Jennings (Sandwich Town Records), daughter of Samuel Jennings, Esq., of Sandwich by his first wife, Remember Smith. Nathan4 Bourne predeceased his father whose will designated this son's only surviving child as "my grand daughter Remember Ellis." His elder brother, John, was appointed guardian 31 Dec. 1750 of Samuel Bourne and Remember Bourne, called minor children "of Nathan Bourne of Hanover, deceased."
Children: 1. Samuel,5 b. in Scituate 2 Sept. 1734; evidently d. without issue as he is not named in either of his grandfathers' wills. 2. Remember, b. about 1736; m. (1), in Sandwich, 23 March 1752, Nathaniel5 Ellis, bapt. there 18 July 1731, d. there in 1770, son of Nathaniel4 and Mary (Fish) Ellis; m. (2), John Smith. The will of her grandfather, Samuel Jennings, dated in Sandwich 28 May 1760, named "my grand daughter Remember Ellis" (Barnstable County Probate, vol. 13, p. 34) as does the will of her grandfather, Nathan Bourne. She is named also in the will, dated 30 July 1748, with codicil 9 Nov. 1757, of her first husband by whom she had nine children. The Sandwich Church records prove that it was Remember, widow of Nathaniel Ellis, whose two children by her second husband, John Smith, were baptized there. [The Rev. Nathan married Lydia Jennings, daughter of Samuel Jennings and Remember Smith, on 6 Sep 1733 in Sandwich, Barnstable, MA 15,196.,335 (Lydia Jennings was born on 6 Feb 1713/14 in Sandwich, Barnstable, MA 335 and died in Jun 1739 in Hanover, Plymouth, MA 335.)
