[Ezra Perry of Sandwich, Mass. (c. 1625-1689), By Lydia B. (Phinney) Brownson, of Buzzard's Bay, Mass., and Maclean W. McLean, of Pittsburgh, Pa., NEHGS 115 (1960)]
Alanson spent his youth with his father on the farm, married Rachel Mallory in 1806, and in 1808 the young couple came to Troupsburgh, then a forest wilderness, to struggle with others amid the toil and great privations, until a home was carved from the primative woods. He did well his part, was a hardy pioneer farmer, ever alive to the improvement and best interests of the town, and in his old age enjoyed the result of his youthful toil and the esteem of his associates. To this couple were born seven children: Brunette in 1807; Harriet 1809, Lloyd 1811, Nathaniel M 1817, Teresa 1819, Melissa 1821, Emily 1824. Mr Perry died in Troupsburgh in 1849 and Mrs. Perry in 1842. (Historical Gazetter of Steuben County, NY) [Email April 19, 2003 from Mallory Smith]
