LT. SILVANUS4 PERRY (Eliakim,3 Benjamin,2 Ezra1), born in Norwich, Conn., 31 Aug. 1743, died in Putnam, Conn., 5 Oct. 1821. He married first, REBECCA BLISS, born 20 Dec. 1744, died 5 July 1788, daughter of John Bliss; and secondly, REBECCA (BAILEY) GREENWOOD.
Mrs. Bristol says that he enlisted in the Revolution in Con-necticut and later moved to southern Vermont. Silvanus Perry was appointed 2d Lt. in October 1776 by the Connecticut Assembly in one of the eight battalions then being raised (op. cit., vol. 2, p. 15). He was promoted in February 1777 to the rank of 1st Lt., when we find that the Assembly ordered that "Sylvanus Perry, who was second lieftenant in [John] Chandler's regiment, to be first lieftenant instead of [Thomas] Abbe." Perry transferred to Wylly's Regiment (ibid., p. 168). It is said that this Silvanus Perry lived for a time in Rehoboth, Mass.

From Damvelt. Married Rebecca Bliss, who may presumed to be Anna Bliss’s sister, 4 Apr 1770. Enlisted in Connecticut for the War of the Revolution; moved to Vermont, made 1st Lt. in John Chandler’s Regiment; transferred to Wyllys Regiment. Landers has 8 Aug 1743 as date of birth. Rebecca (1744-1788). Following her death, married Rebecca Bailey. Trim, Unrecorded Vital Records of Rehoboth (1980), 51, has birth 31 Aug 1743. [BINGHAM.GED]
