JOSIAH4 PERRY (Abner,3 Benjamin,2 Ezra1), born about 1735, died testate, in Dudley, Mass., after 8 April and before 27 Dec. 1815. He married first, in Walpole, Mass., 21 April 1763, MARY HARTSHORNE (Wrentham Vital Records); and secondly, probably after 1790, MARY BROWN, born in Holliston, Mass., 10 Oct. 1757, died in Thompson, Conn., 15 Sept. 1849 "aet. 92 yrs. 11 mo., 5 days," daughter of Joseph and Lydia (Twitchell) Brown.
The will of "Josiah Perry of Dudley in the County of Worcester, gentleman," dated 8 April 1815, names his "beloved wife Mary Perry," to whom he gives "all her household furniture she brought with her" and a generous portion of his estate. He gives "unto my two sons Josiah and Richard" one dollar each in addition to "what they have had." To his "five daughters: viz. Molly, Phebe, Roxa, Hannah and Zilpah," household furniture, and one Bible each. To "my son Joseph Hartshorn, Sixty dollars. To my granddaughter Mary Cooper ... to my grandson Josiah Perry son of Rowland Perry ... to my son Rowland Perry $30," in addition. All residue to "my son Eliphaz Perry" both real and personal.
