ELIAKIM3 PERRY (Benjamin,2 Ezra1), born 8 May 1716, died in Tinmouth, Vt., about 1792. He married first, in Stoughton, Mass., 18 Dec. 1740, SARAH JOY "of Rehoboth" (Endicott, op. cit.; James N. Arnold, Vital Records of Rehoboth, p. 302), born 17 July 1720, died about 1748, daughter of David and Ruth (Ford) Joy; and secondly, 27 Dec. 1749, HEPZIBAH LADD of Norwich, Conn.
He and his brothers Josiah and Nathaniel jointly purchased land from their "Honoured father Benjamin Perry" in Stoughton 15 Oct. 1735 (Suffolk County Deeds, vol. 48, p. 89). He sold his third share of this 386 acre tract on 1 April 1740 to his brother Josiah, at which time he is called "of Stoughton, yeoman." This land was bounded southerly by "the Colony line" and by Jeremiah Willis (who in 1742 married Eliakim Perry's widowed sister, Remember (Perry) Tupper). He was appointed administrator of the estate of his brother-in-law, Thomas Tupper, Jr. (vide supra, account of Remember (Perry) Tupper) and on 12 Aug. 1740, as administrator he sold some of this Tupper land to his brother Nathaniel (Suffolk County Deeds, vol. 61, p. 229). The Hon. Melatiah Bourne of Sandwich relates in a deed, dated 6 June 1741, that Eliakim Perry of Stoughton, as administrator of the estate of Thomas Tupper, Jr., had paid £100. to clear title to the property on behalf of the Tupper heirs (ibid., vol. 61, p. 228). Eliakim Perry removed to Norwich, Conn., about 1747, and before 1775 he moved again to the neighborhood of Tinmouth. [Ezra Perry of Sandwich, Mass. (c. 1625-1689), By Lydia B. Variable spelling of given name: Eliakim Brownson, NEHGR 115:195-7> Eliakim and his brother Josiah both moved into the area which was in dispute between the Province of New York and the Colony of New Hampshire. Says he died in Tinmouth, VT, abt 1792.
