SAMUEL5 PERRY, M.D. (Samuel,4 Ebenezer,3 Samuel,2 Ezra,1), born about 1764, died in Fairhaven (Acushnet), Mass., 6 Oct. 1820 aet. 56. He married first (intention: "Dr. Samuel Perry, Jr. of New Bedford," 28 Sept. 1793), SYLVIA CLAPP of Rochester, Mass. (Rochester Vital Records), born in 1771, died in New Bedford, 15 April 1815 "in her 45th yr." (Dartmouth Vital Records); and secondly, in New Bedford SUSAN C. INGRAHAM, born in 1781, died 28 Sept. 1842 aet. 61 (ibid.).
Under his father's will, 1803, he inherited the family mansion. Like his father and brother he maintained a flourishing medical practice in New Bedford, and like them he died suddenly of apoplexy. In his case we learn that the attack occurred in the evening while at the house of Judge Edward Pope in New Bedford (Ricketson, op. cit., p. 84).
