He married there, 1 Oct. 1746, Anna Bumpas, born about 1725, died 26 Aug. 1797, aged 72 (Wareham Church Records) daughter of Benjamin and Susannah (Lovell) Bumpas.
He was admitted to the Wareham Church in 1742, of which he was long a deacon. He was active in Wareham's town affairs. He acquired considerable real estate (Plymouth County Deeds, vol. 35, p. 110, 168, 190 et seq.). Final settlement of his estate in 1780 is given at length by Dykes (op. cit., p. 39-43). [The Rev.
