Edson Dana,9 son of Paul 2d, born at Middletown, Conn., and for two or three years clerk in a store in Utica, N. Y., left there in 1846 and moved to Brooklyn, N. Y.; from 1846 to 1850 was clerk and accountant in a produce, brokerage and commission house; from 1850 to 1856 chief clerk in a stock broker's office; 1856 to 1872 assistant secretary and secretary of the Ohio & Mississippi R. R. in their New York offices; 1872 to 1874 assistant secretary of the Erie R. R. Co.; since July, 1885, clerk in the auditor's office of the Erie Dispatch, New York city. Residence, 54 West 100th Street, New York city. Edson Dana m. 1st, at Franklin, Mass., Oct. 8, 1848, Louise Marion Thurston, who was born at Franklin, Oct. 8, 1829, and died Oct. 1872.
