Ansel5 Gibbs (Jabez,4 Samuel,3 Samuel,2 Thomas1), born 26 Nov. 1751, died 17 Aug. 1815 "aet. 60-70" (Sandwich Church Records).
He married 17 March 1774 Elizabeth Morton "of Plymouth".
The will, dated 17 Aug. 1815, proved 1815, of "Ansel Gibbs of Sandwich, yeoman" gives "to my two sons, Josiah Gibbs and Barnabas Gibbs" an equal division of all real and personal estate, "they finding, equally, my daughter Elizabeth Wadsworth, house room & fire wood and $20. yearly so long as she shall be single. And to William Morton, my two sons are to give good learning & if he continues to live with them until 21 years of age they shall pay to him equally … $150."
