ELIJAH5 PERRY (John,4 Elijah,3 John,2 Ezra1), born 5 June 1776, died in Sandwich, Mass., 5 Aug. 1814 "aged 39 yrs." (gravestone, Bourne Cemetery). He married there, 17 Feb. 1803, LYDIA BOURNE (Sandwich town records, vol. 1, p. 217), born in 1776, died there 6 Aug. 1816 "aged 40 yrs." (Sandwich Church records; gravestone, Bourne Cemetery), daughter of Thomas and Abigail Bourne.
He inherited, under his father's will, one-third part of the latter's mill and other real and personal property. He lived in the house built by his grandfather, Dea. Elijah3 Perry.
The Barnstable County Probate records show that on 21 April 1819 Benjamin Bourne was appointed guardian of the minor children: Louisa, Elijah, Joanna and John of "Elijah Perry, deceased." Elisha Perry was appointed guardian of the daughter Belinda.

Both he and his wife died while all the children were still minors. Benjamin Bourne was appointed guardian of all except Belinda. (Elisha had that honor). [PERRY.TXT]
