Maria, b. about 1747, bapt. in the Sandwich Church 5 Nov. 1749 to "Job & Lydia Bourne;" m. 25 Feb. 1767 Samuel4 Nye,[A] bapt. in the West Barnstable Church 26 June 1742, son of Lemuel3 and Sarah (Jenkins) Nye. The will of her uncle Isaac4 Bourne gives to "my kinsman Isaac Nye son of Samuel Nye and Maria his wife, and grandson of my brother Job Bourne, all my sheep."
[A] George Hyatt Nye and Frank E. Best, A Genealogy of the Nye Family, 1907, p. 89, wrongly describe this Samuel4 Nye as eldest son, but the church records show him to have been in fact the fourth son and seventh in a family of eight children. Maria married Samuel Nye, son of Lemuel Nye and Sarah Jenkins, on 25 Feb 1767.196 (Samuel Nye was christened on 26 Jun 1742 in West Barnstable, Barnstable, MA 196.)
