In the 1850 Census of Tompkins, Delaware, NY, there is a Burdick Travis listed living with N. H. Hotchkiss (dwelling #106); a few houses up is the family of Harrison Travis (dwelling #104 - Harrison, 37; Celinda, 39; Francis O., 5; Helen Mallory, 13; and Montravill Heillsinger, 19). A Burdick W. Travis was a musician with the 106th Regiment, Company F, and was mustered from Hughesville, Lycoming Co. PA during the Civil War. [History of Lycoming County Pennsylvania by John F. Meginness, 1892]

Burdick married Minerva B. Sanders, daughter of Capt. John Sanders and Catherine Winegarden, in 1861 in Lycoming Co., PA.481 The marriage ended in divorce before 1880. (Minerva B. Sanders was born about 1839 in Muncy, Lycoming, PA 45 and died in 1920 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia, PA 195.)
